In 2013 the american composer and trombonist Mike Svoboda was commissioned by the Sieghardt Rometsch foundation commissioned to write a “Triple concerto for trumpet, trombone, tuba and orchestra.” The piece was premiered in 2015 in Cottbus, Germany, by the winners of the 8th International Aeolus Competition and the Cottbus Philharmonisches Orchester. The successful premiere received great reviews from the press and audience, leading to a second performance in Gävle, Sweden in October 2016. This unique piece demands all the virtuosity of the soloists Tom Poulson, Sebastiaan Kemner and Rubén Durá de Lamo.
